Just 3 km away is the mediaeval village of Tourtour, known as Le village dans le ciel because of its elevated position 635 m above sea level and its panoramic views.

Officially listed as un des plus beaux villages de France, it has narrow, winding streets, eight fountains and an excellent selection of cafés, shops and restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Les Chenes Verts. The village square, with its shady plane trees, is the focal point and hosts many local events, including frequent pétanque matches.

Other local attractions include the mediaeval church (the classical concerts there are not to be missed), castle, working olive press, fossil museum and the original open-air public laundry, still used by locals today.

In the summer months, the village becomes a centre for local artists and craftsmen, with galleries and exhibitions spilling out into the streets. Out of season it is quieter, but several restaurants and shops stay open all year.

For day-to-day requirements there is a boulangerie and a well-stocked mini supermarket, with a small market of local produce, including a butcher's van, being held twice a week in the village square. More extensive shopping and larger traditional Provençal street markets are available in nearby Salernes, Aups and Draguignan.
